Man shot in Brookland identified as Cheval Reid

Police have identified the man who died on the grass in the 1500 block of Irving St., NE early this morning as Cheval Reid, 25.

Police initially delayed Reid’s identification pending notification of his family. According to police, Reid was found suffering from a gunshot wound on the grass at around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. He died from his injuries at the scene, police said.

Police have not yet released any suspect information.
