Police searching for murder suspect

Police are searching for a 20-year-old man wanted for the alleged murder of Tyree Banks earlier this month.

Police believe William Lee Lewis, IV, described as a 5-foot-5 black man with black hair and brown eyes, is responsible for Banks’ murder. Banks was found on November 3, with gunshot wounds in the 5000 block of Benning Road, SE. Banks was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police plan to charge Lewis with first-degree murder while armed.
