Second arrest made in connection with fatal shooting

A second man has been arrested for the alleged murder of Yoselis Barrios.

Victor Hernandez, 17, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Barrios, 16, was fatally shot on the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street, NW on Nov. 7. Officers arrived after hearing gunshots and found an adult and Barrios with gunshot wounds in the rear alley of the location.

Both were taken to local hospitals, where the adult male was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Barrios was pronounced dead after all life-saving efforts failed.

The first suspect, Kevin Sorto, 20, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed. Both Hernandez and Sorto are being held without bond
